Noble Alpaca Farm

Here at the Noble Alpaca Farm, we are focused on the development of luxury fibre products, to be achieved through a superior breeding program.  We enjoy the challenge of promoting and marketing an alternative livestock here on Manitoulin Island.

Our Business

The main focus of our business is to have fun raising the Alpacas and shear them annually.  The fibre will then be processed and spun into yarn and yarn related products.

We at the Noble Alpaca Farm envision being fully knit into the Agricultural and hospitality fabric of Manitoulin Island, through extensive participation in the local Farmer's Markets, Island wide fall fairs and local trade fairs.  We hope our farm will become  an attraction for tourists and residents alike. 

The Noble Alpaca Farm was established on property known as the Noble Farm.  This heritage farm  was founded in the early 1890's by John and Agnes Noble.  It lies on 100 acres of property below the scenic Cup and Saucer trail overlooking Lake Manitou, on Manitoulin Island.

The 130 year old cedar shake house greets visitors on their way to the large log barn.  A cedar rail perimeter fence surrounds the entire farm adding to it's character and charm.  Upon stepping through the front gate it is like taking a step back in time!

Who We Are

We bought the Noble Farm in July of 2006.  We bring an intense love of animals and a desire for simple country living to our new endeavour.

This love of animals led us to buying a lamb from a local farm.  While at their farm choosing our little ball of fluff, we noticed that they had Llamas in their field.  One in particular, caught our attention, except it wasn't a Llama, it was an Alpaca! 

Of course we started asking questions and this led to many hours of research into these magnificent animals. Upon learning that there was an Alpaca farm a few hours away, we decided to go for a tour and the rest, as they say, is HISTORY!  

Our Alpacas share the barnyard with Sonny and Sacchi, our guard Llamas, and several chickens.  Spike the barn cat and Suzie, the dog, keep the barn free from unwanted four-footed guests.
